The warmth tends to build gradually, so it suits spaces where a steady background temperature is more useful than rapid heat.

Heat pumps use a fan to distribute warm air around the room. This gives faster heat-up times and broader coverage, especially when the indoor unit is positioned correctly. The airflow is noticeable, but modern systems are generally quiet when selected and installed for the space.
